ViroPharma Europe
ViroPharma Europe is ViroPharma’s wholly-owned European subsidiary, which commenced in 2007 to leverage in Europe the company’s expertise in the development and commercialization of biotechnology products, and in business development. Initially, ViroPharma Europe is focused on the development of Camvia™ (maribavir) in the European markets. The company believes that its European presence will enable ViroPharma to maximize the global value of Camvia, and broaden the geographic basis for business development opportunities.
ViroPharma seeks to acquire opportunities in areas of strategic interest to the company; Our strategy is to target serious diseases by building franchises within narrowly focused prescribing groups, with an initial niche focus on hospital infectious disease, transplant medicine and gastroenterology. Our interest could expand into other areas if they are compatible with our general business plan (i.e. niche opportunities, supportable by specialty marketing).
